FAQ's

WILL I RECEIVE ENROLLMENT CONFIRMATION?

Yes. When we receive your enrollment form, and payment, we will send you an Enrollment Acknowledgment postcard.


WHAT ABOUT BAGGAGE LABELS?

Please remove all old tags to avoid confusion! Our drivers bring preprinted labels, and tag bags with this years color coded Camp Baggage tags during pick-up. Having your own permanent luggage tag, or other form of identification on the baggage is highly recommended.


WHY IS THERE A LATE ENROLLMENT PENALTY?

Due to the complexity of planning, we must have necessary lead time. This ensures that your stop will be mapped into the appropriate service area. Due to truck capacities, Camp Baggage can not guarantee service for enrollment forms and payment received after the May 1st deadline.


WHAT ABOUT SLEEPING BAGS?

We accept sleeping bags. Personal identification is required on all baggage. By packing sleeping bags inside duffel bags you can avoid additional charges. Sleeping bags must not be tied to other baggage.

Cost is $35 Round Trip and $20 One-Way.


WHAT SIZE BAGGAGE CAN WE SEND?

All camp duffel bags, and soft trunks within reason, are acceptable. However, each bag in excess of 80 pounds will incur an additional $20 charge. This policy is an effort to prevent injury to our drivers, and your child's camp counselors.


WHY DO YOU NEED SUCH SPECIFIC DIRECTIONS?

Our Camp Baggage drivers and navigators are not from your area, and they change each summer. Our trucks are equipped with GPS navigation units. If you address is not found by computer mapping programs, please provide direction from the nearest main road, or cross street.


HOW WILL WE KNOW THAT CAMP BAGGAGE PICKED UP OUR BAGGAGE?

We will leave a Camp Baggage notice with the date and time we were at your home.


CAN YOU GIVE AN EXACT PICK UP/DROP OFF DATE & TIME?

In early June you will be notified of a specific date, and an estimated time of pick up. You will be notified by postcard of return dates at least one week prior to the end of camp.


CAN WE CHANGE OUR DATE AND / OR TIME OF PICKUP?

Due to advance scheduling, truck capacities and our efforts to be on time, it is usually not possible to change the date or time of our services.


LAST YEAR YOU PICKED UP AT MY HOUSE EARLY IN THE MORNING. CAN I ASSUME THAT IT WILL BE THE SAME THIS YEAR?

Unfortunately, no. Enrollments change from year to year and as a result routes change as well.


WHAT IF YOU PICKED UP BAGGAGE AT MY NEIGHBOR’S WHO LIVES A FEW HOUSES AWAY AN HOUR AGO, AND YOU STILL HAVE NOT PICKED UP MY BAGS?

We may have many trucks that cover the same service area. Due to high concentration in some areas, you and your neighbor may not be on the same truck route.


WHAT IF IS IT RAINING ON THE DAY OF PICK UP?

We ask that you use good judgment in regard to where and how you leave the baggage. If you do need to leave it outside, please try to do so under some kind of cover. If the baggage is not in clear view, please leave a note letting us know exactly where it is stored.


WHAT DO WE DO IF WE WANT TO LEAVE OUR HOME AND CAMP BAGGAGE HAS NOT ARRIVED?

Many families leave the baggage somewhere accessible to us. Please leave a note for our drivers on the front door with the new location of the baggage. Possible ideas are: Locked Garage (call us with entry code), with your neighbor, or another camper in your area.


YOU TOLD US YOU WOULD BE HERE TODAY, BUT IT IS 9PM AND YOU HAVE NOT ARRIVED! WHAT SHOULD WE DO?

Please understand that things can and do go wrong due to unforeseen circumstances, such as weather, traffic, and direction difficulties. Camp Baggage drivers are instructed to make phone calls to update you when problems arise. We make every effort possible to keep on schedule.


DO YOU OFFER A SIBLING DISCOUNT IF I HAVE MORE THAN ONE CHILD USING YOUR SERVICE?

Yes. We offer a sibling discount of $10 for each family member being picked up from the same address.


WHEN WILL THE BAGGAGE ARRIVE AT CAMP?

The baggage we pick up at your home is delivered during Counselor Orientation.


IF WE LOCK THE BAGGAGE, WHAT DO WE DO WITH THE KEY?

Bags go directly from our trucks to camp. If you do lock your baggage, make sure you follow your camp's instructions regarding keys.


WHAT IF WE NEED TO ADD OR DELETE BAGGAGE AFTER THE ENROLLMENT FORM HAS BEEN SENT?

Notify us, not the camp, as soon as you know. We will try to accommodate your needs.


CAN WE SEND GOLF CLUBS?

Yes you can. The cost is $40.00. Please make sure that the golf clubs are in a secure bag or box. Please handwrite “golf clubs” on your application form and include the appropriate fee in your payment.


WHAT IF WE HAVE A DIFFERENT RETURN ADDRESS?

Please notify Camp Baggage immediately.


WILL WE GET A REFUND IF WE DO NOT HAVE AS MUCH BAGGAGE AS WE PAID FOR?

If you notify us at least 5 days in advance, we will refund a portion of your money. If we show up at either your home or camp and there is a discrepancy and no notice, there will be no refund.


WHAT IF MY CAMPER’S SESSION CHANGES?

Notify Camp Baggage as soon as possible. We will make every effort to accommodate your needs.


THE MAY ENROLLMENT DEADLINE HAS PASSED, BUT MY CHILD ONLY NEEDS BAGGAGE SERVICE HOME FROM CAMP. DO I STILL HAVE TO PAY THE $25 LATE ENROLLMENT PENALTY? (This also applies to SECOND SESSION campers)

No. The Enrollment Penalty is to encourage people who require June service to get their forms in early, so we can begin our complex route planning. If you have a second session camper, or only want the bags delivered home at the end of camp you will not be penalized. Please have your forms in 14 days before you require service.


WHEN CAN WE EXPECT OUR BAGGAGE AFTER CAMP ENDS?

MA, RI, CT, NY, NJ, PA, MD: Approximately 1-3 days after camp ends.
Florida: Approximately 7 days after camp ends.
Camp Chipinaw and Silver Lake families will receive their luggage no later than Friday, August 17th.


IS IT APPROPRIATE TO TIP CAMP BAGGAGE DRIVERS?

Yes! Tipping is appreciated. Our drivers are hardworking, responsible college students working their way through school.
